The engineer selects the property whose sum over well connected cells is to be maximized. Typically the user would select the hydrocarbon in place at a given date.

Several well trajectory parameters can be varied by the optimizer, such as azimuth, inclination, drain length.

Some zones can be excluded from the trajectories or perforation intervals (examples : faults, water zones, …).

The optimized well pattern can easily be integrated into a simulation deck.
